About University
Bugema University began in 1948 as Bugema Missionary Training School, training teachers and pastors for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in East Africa. It later became Bugema Missionary College and then Bugema Adventist College, offering a BTh degree in 1976.
Academic Programmes
Bugema University is structured into 7 Schools, 1 Graduate School, and a Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies, with 4 regional learning centers (Kampala, Mbale, Arua, and Kasese). All our programs currently over 130 accredited undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate offerings are fully verified and accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) of Uganda.
We deliver our programs through multiple flexible modes: day, evening, weekend, in-service (holiday/modular), and distance e-learning. This deliberate variety ensures that whether you are a full-time student, a working professional, a teacher on school holidays, a pastor, or someone in a remote area, Bugema brings quality Christian education to you at the right time and in the right place.
Undergraduate
Bugema University offers over 130 NCHE-accredited programs across 7 schools and a Graduate School, delivered via day, evening, weekend, in-service, and distance learning modes through our main campus and 4 regional centers bringing quality Christian education to everyone, everywhere.
Postgraduate
We offer diverse graduate programmes in Education, Business (MBA), Public Health, Counseling Psychology, Development Studies, Public Administration, IT, Sustainable Agribusiness, Rural & Environmental Management (PhD), and Divinity equipping leaders for transformative impact.
