Anchored in Seventh-day Adventist principles, our programmes envision holistic transformation, blending rigorous scholarship in development theories, disaster management, and community empowerment with ethical service tailored to sub-Saharan Africa’s unique challenges—from climate resilience to social justice.
Our offerings, including the Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, Bachelor of Humanitarian Emergency and Disaster Management, Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Management, and diplomas in these fields, prioritise innovative research, field trips, community outreach, and practical projects. Through modern workshops, seminars, and partnerships, we prepare you for impactful roles as project managers, humanitarian aid workers, advocates, and researchers, addressing poverty, emergencies, and peacebuilding with cultural sensitivity and spiritual depth.

Duration of the Programme
The Department of Development & Humanitarian Studies offers programs with clear, structured durations to prepare you for impactful global service. The Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, Bachelor of Humanitarian Emergency and Disaster Management, Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, and Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Management each span 4 years (8 semesters), combining rigorous coursework, field placements, and research to build expertise in sustainability, crisis response, and peacebuilding. Our Diploma in Development Studies and Diploma in Humanitarian Emergency and Disaster Management run for 2 years (4 semesters), delivering focused, practical training for immediate entry into development and humanitarian roles. Flexible learning options ensure accessibility for all committed students.
